OKC Thunder Vs. Portland Trailblazers NBA Betting Predictions, Picks and Parlays 11-5-2025
The Baby Thunder's Reign: Who Can Stop SGA’s Perfect Start?
The OKC Thunder are just purely hooping at this point. They're off to an insane 8-0 start and have just become the new powerhouses in the NBA, breaking a franchise record for the best start in team history. We're talking about a team that just blew out the Clips, and that’s a big statement in itself, especially after just weathering a James Harden coup in a younger team. Shai's an absolute killer out there as Shai Gilgeous Alexander dropped 30 points and 12 assists in a statement game against LA. His level of consistency is just phenomenal as he extends that 20-point streak.
Now they come to Portland, a road trip of a short drive as they prepare to take on a Trail Blazers team that hasn't been horrible at 4-3, but come on, it’s a lot of talent. The line says it all: Thunder are only 4-point favorites on a thin line, which feels almost like an insult to the undefeated champs. Vegas knows something, I guess?
Maybe it's the injury report, which is getting messy for OKC. All-NBA swingman Jalen Williams is out with that wrist issue, Kenrich Williams is sidelined with a knee thing, and the rookie Nikola Topic is out. Plus, they're on a back-to-back, which always drains the legs. Chet Holmgren and Ajay Mitchell even took some hard tumbles against the Clippers, and defensive anchor Lu Dort left early with a shoulder contusion.
The Blazers, meanwhile, are totally depleted, though. They've got a laundry list of injuries themselves—Scoot Henderson, Matisse Thybulle, Blake Wesley, and Damian Lillard are all out. Yeah, they’re still trying to figure out life without Dame, and it's been a bumpy ride, especially with head coach Chauncey Billups on leave right now.
Tiago Splitter is coaching this short homestand, and he’s got his work cut out for him. Even with OKC's potential fatigue and minor injuries, I'm leaning heavily on SGA just carrying this thing home. The Blazers need a miracle—or maybe just a truly cold shooting night from the Baby Thunder—to get this win. At just -4, the Thunder don't have a lock on this one, but what they have is the next best thing.
